do we really respect our teachers? - II
"Who is Ajay? "
"yes ma'am "
"good keep it up. " This was Mrs Kalpana Agarwal, our class teacher as well as our english teacher. She was in her 40s and unlike others who seem like Virus of 3 idiots, she was little friendly.
According to her strategy, she divided whole class into 6 groups and in every period, last 15 minutes were reserved for group activities like doing drama, one act play, dangerous group discussions and also some types of essay competition among all groups.
If i will start writing about her, then i may fill the whole blog by those...
"So today each group will make a play on this chapter no:15 'The shopkeeper and the farmer'. "
I was the leader of one such group with 10 students...
Fortunately, i acted very well. And this was only due to my acting skills which i do whole day before mama and SKD too. In fact i can easily convert a lie to a truth in front of anyone.
So this great habit of mine, helped me there too. I was main attraction of all eyeballs in class after our play . Since i was playing the role of the cunning shopkeeper, so it was everlasting.
Am i speaking more about myself???? sorry, but i dunt mind at all, of course my blog, my lappy, my brain, so my wish...LOL
With these all activities, my interest towards english sky rocketed. In fact, in spare times( by the way whole day was spare to me) I used to write poems, stories, etc etc. I scored near about 65% this time, but in english it was above 85%.
SKD too didnt scold me as usual. yippie..... i broke the jinx of acheiving below 50%......
In the starting of 7th standard, we were again divided into groups and in our 1st unit test in english, I wrote all my answers in an impressive and poetic way(though bluffed it all... ma'am too 1ce for it, called me bluffmaster) But it came wrong. Ma'am called me to staff room... and staff room was most dangerous place for all students so i was totally in nervousness in fact sweating.
"Ajay, i know you will become a very good writer i can see from your writings but, to do well in exams, you have to write to the point answers. not only in english, but also in all subjects. Just give interest in all your subjects and see how your average goes up "
""OK ma'am, i will "
Dunt know from that day, i was little tilted towards studies . Tutions, home works, school, etc etc.
I became busy most of the time with books may it be English, or any science fiction or any porn magazines.
At the end of 9th grade, i got 89%.... Then in matriculation, 95%..
Really, the taste of the result of hard work is very very sweet..Believe me.
My track record was maintained by me till now.
Presently am a software engineer in Bangalore..... will be shifting to USA in a month for 2 years contract in Microsoft.
Whenever i go to my place with AVANTIKA (u all will be knowing her in my next post), i reach to our colony's water tank which is the top most point there... and view my home, my school, my play ground, and go in flashback.
The only thing that is highlighted in my flashback, is Kalpana ma'am, her teaching style, and for whom i am here.
But what i gave in return to her??? school fees ???? (which i earn in a days time)
I did not even tried to meet her once. She must have made many AJAY's in this town... but what she gets in return??
Really teacher's jobs are very hard to understnd. Their real fees doesnt lies in notes that government gives to them....... rather in student's future and their developement
I respect to my ma'am..... but still a question always strikes harder than SKD's slap "do we really respect our ma'am? "
